PLC Platform Integration
We integrate all major PLC platforms used in North American industrial automation. Panel architecture is developed based on the project-specified platform and I/O requirements.
Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation)
CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers with Studio 5000 programming. PanelView HMIs, PowerFlex VFDs, and Kinetix servo drives. EtherNet/IP and DeviceNet communication.
Siemens
S7-1200 and S7-1500 controllers with TIA Portal programming. KTP and TP series HMIs, Sinamics VFDs. Profinet and Profibus communication.
Schneider Electric
Modicon M221, M241, and M251 controllers with EcoStruxure Machine Expert programming. Harmony HMIs, Altivar VFDs. Modbus TCP/RTU and CANopen communication.
Mitsubishi & Inovance
Mitsubishi FX5U and iQ-R series with GX Works3 programming. Inovance AM400/AM600 controllers. Both platforms support Modbus, EtherNet/IP, and CANopen protocols.
I/O and Communication Architecture
We design PLC panels with scalable I/O architectures to match your process requirements:
- Digital inputs: 24V DC, 120V AC, or universal voltage
- Digital outputs: relay, transistor (sourcing/sinking), or triac
- Analog inputs: 4–20mA, 0–10V, RTD, thermocouple
- Analog outputs: 4–20mA or 0–10V
- High-speed counter inputs for encoder feedback
- Remote I/O via EtherNet/IP, Profinet, or Modbus
- Industrial Ethernet switches for network segmentation
- Redundant communication paths for critical applications
All communication protocols are configured and tested during FAT. We provide network diagrams and IP address documentation as part of the submittal package.
HMI and SCADA Integration
HMI Panels
We integrate Allen-Bradley PanelView, Siemens KTP/TP, Schneider Harmony, Weintek, and Maple Systems HMI panels. Screen development includes process visualization, alarm management, trend logging, and recipe management.
SCADA Integration
PLC panels are configured for seamless SCADA integration using OPC UA, Modbus TCP, or native protocol drivers. We support Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC, and other major SCADA platforms.
All HMI and SCADA interfaces are tested during FAT with simulated process data. We provide screen navigation documentation and operator training materials upon request.
NEMA Enclosures
NEMA 1 — Indoor General Purpose
Standard indoor enclosure for PLC panels installed in electrical rooms or control cabinets. Constructed from 12-gauge cold-rolled steel with a removable front door. Finished with ANSI 61 gray powder coat.
NEMA 3R — Outdoor Rainproof
Outdoor-rated enclosure with rainproof construction, drip shields, and conduit hubs. Suitable for PLC panels installed in uncovered exterior locations.
NEMA 4 / 4X — Washdown & Corrosion Resistant
Watertight enclosures for washdown applications. NEMA 4X uses stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance in food processing, chemical, and marine environments.
NEMA 12 — Indoor Dust-Tight
Dust-tight enclosure for industrial environments with airborne dust, dirt, and non-corrosive contaminants. Common in manufacturing and material handling applications.
PLC Programming and Commissioning
Our engineering team provides complete PLC programming services based on your functional specification or sequence of operations:
- Ladder logic, function block diagram, or structured text programming
- HMI screen development with process visualization
- Alarm and event management configuration
- Trend logging and data historian setup
- Recipe management for batch processes
- Safety logic and interlock programming
- Communication driver configuration
- FAT with simulated I/O and process emulation
All programs are documented with comments, tag descriptions, and cross-reference tables. We provide source code and project files as part of the deliverable package.
SCCR and Safety Requirements
NEC 409.110 requires that every industrial control panel be marked with a Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR). The SCCR must equal or exceed the available fault current at the point of installation.
We calculate the SCCR for every PLC panel based on the specific components, protective devices, and panel configuration. Our SCCR documentation includes:
- Available fault current at the line terminals
- SCCR of each section based on component ratings
- Verification that marked SCCR meets project requirements
- Upstream protective device assumptions
For safety-critical applications, we implement safety-rated components and architectures per ISO 13849 or IEC 62443 standards. Safety PLCs, safety relays, and emergency stop circuits are integrated as required.
